USA beware! You may look at the demolition of the historic East Wing at the White House as yet another viral meme, caused by the charlatan currently residing in “The People’s House”. Ironically, there couldn’t be a better metaphor for the ongoing assault on our young democracy, not to mention that the East Wing represented a space historically associated with women’s leadership in the White House.
This exhibit aims to draw attention to the sycophants who financed the teardown of the East Wing and construction of the monstrous new Ballroom. It exposes companies engaged in a pay-to-play scheme, in return for government contracts and favors. To satisfy their greed, they ignore any morals and ethics to which they may once have prescribed.
The destruction of the Rose Garden is another example, the trampled roses symbolic of our constitutional rights. Freedom of speech, religion, press, assembly and petition; protection against unreasonable searches and seizures; the right to a fair trial. Perhaps not too surprising, the right to bear arms remains unquestioned, in spite of mass shootings across the country having become the daily norm. Those of us who dare to speak up against this overstepping regime are being intimidated (and sometimes killed) by an unconstitutional force wielding military grade assault weapons while cosplaying as heroes.
Protect our democracy by voting early. No Kings!

And now on to our beloved Amazons, Instagrams, Googles, Xs, Apples, WhatsApps, WholeFoods, OpenAIs, Home Depots, Targets, and the likes. Let’s show them that we are not ok with them selling our data, eradicating our forests, mistreating their workers, peddling political lies, participating in genocide, and having their AI agents run amok. How to do that? Quit them. Research and find ethically sound alternatives. Accept a little inconvenience for the sake of your own personal betterment and that of society at large.

Maryland based defense and aerospace manufacturer Lockheed Martin has in the past been accused of bribery, and more recently of environmental racism and financial misconduct. They also received government contracts close to $44 Billion US Dollars in return for their contribution to the ballroom/bunker at the White House. Furthermore, they profit from supplying their weapons to war zones in Ukraine and Gaza.
Suggestion: vote for people who are not beholden to the military-industrial complex to change this. You have that power!
Beyond their ballroom donations, shopping monopoly Amazon has faced criticism for tax dodging, workers’ rights abuses, and environmental impact. Amazon Web Services, AWS is supplying the Israeli army with cloud storage and advanced artificial intelligence services, thereby supporting an oppressive regime.
To change this, shop wisely and support local, small businesses. Shop with ethically and environmentally sound merchants. Boycott Amazon and use the power of the purse.
Social Media favorite Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) has faced major legal and regulatory backlash over issues like child safety and data protection. Their platforms are designed to be addictive, especially to children. They also profit from your information, and censor large groups of users like No Kings with account blackouts.
To change this, ditch social media and hang out with friends to have real social fun. Signal is a good alternative to WhatsApp.
Apple recently acquired an Israeli surveillance firm making them complicit in the genocide in Gaza. They were also accused of donating to non-profits supporting illegal settlements in the West Bank. They donated $25 million to the ballroom project in order to secure their standing with an authoritarian government, rather than growing a spine and weathering the storm.
Suggestion: stop buying Apple products and make them feel your dissatisfaction.
Google‘s motto used to be “Don’t Be Evil” when they first started out, changing it in 2018 to the more cumbersome “And remember… don’t be evil, and if you see something that you think isn’t right – speak up!”. Taking them by their word, let’s look at these articles about antitrust violations, privacy practices, military contracts, and tax dodging.
To change this, cancel all your Google accounts. Proton works well for email. DuckDuckGo and Ecosia are great alternatives for search engines.
Next up, Nvidia. Where to start? Antitrust, privacy practices, cryptomining, and review manipulation. Additionally, as mentioned above, they contributed $10 million US dollars to the ballroom project, securing government favoritism.
Billionaire Peter Thiel founded military tech firm lead by CEO Alex Karp, Palantir Technologies has faced significant criticism for its role in expanding government surveillance and its contracts with agencies like ICE, which have been linked to deportations and data aggregation on individuals.
Suggestion: minimize and cleanup your digital footprint on the internet. Of course you don’t have anything to hide, but you should protect your personal data. These guys will grab anything they can get their hands on and profit from it. To make matters worse, you likely allowed most apps and online services to do so when you signed up and opted not to read the fine print.
Home Depot is exposed for not taking an official position on ICE raids in their parking lots. However, they are not listed as a donor to the ballroom project.
Your local Ace Hardware might be your best alternative. Here are some additional suggestions to help free yourself from the Depot.
Elon Musk’s X contributed to the Ballroom/bunker in exchange for government favors. Beyond that, Elon is known to engage in extreme rhetoric with fascist undertones. The use of a salute popular with the Nazis seriously offended Germans, as well as the rest of the world. Musk is currently in the news for slowing down internet services to the Ukrainian army, causing many civilian casualties in a country that was invaded by a dictator.
Suggestion: quit X!
T-Mobile has a history of data breaches, the most serious on occuring in 2021. In the process, sensitive information like names, birthdates, Social Security numbers, and driver’s license numbers of millions of customers were exposed. In 2026 they transitioned many customers from older plans to new ones, resulting in monthly bill increases of at least $4 per line, causing regulatory scrutiny. Likely, nothing will come of such scrutiny because T-mobile donated to the Ballroom. They also scrapped their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs and are hosting Trump Mobile.
Suggestion: quit them too. There is a life after tech-abuse.

About the exhibit
The music:
The exhibit revolves around a 75 minute long immersive composition that engulfs the visitor with mostly soothing soundscapes. However, it features disruptive sounds as well, occurring intermittently. The listener will experience sub bass frequencies from the floor, mid range frequencies from about ear height, and high frequencies raining down from above. They will experience the music differently based on their position in the space. 19 speakers are used to create this unique experience.
The videos:
Displayed on eleven flat screen TVs, the videos are synced up with music cues and are appearing from the black screens to surprise the visitor depending again on their position in the space.
